Our theme for October was Autumn and Halloween. We read a lovely Autumn Sensory story and explored hedgehogs, squirrels, acorns and different coloured leaves. We made an Autumn tree using Autumn colours and our finger tips.
We read two Halloween sensory stories. The first was ‘You Might be a Witch’ and we explored all the different objects a witch may have – a broomstick, black cat, green hair, long green fingers, stripy tights and long, pointy nose. The second was ‘Knock, knock, Knock’. We knocked on our Halloween door and listened to the sounds of the visitors – a witch, a hairy werewolf and a green monster among others. We did some lovely Halloween art.
We went outside and looked for spider webs and spiders and brought some inside to have a closer look! We dressed up for our Halloween party and enjoyed some treats to celebrate. We’re looking forward to a wee break for mid-term.
