November Transport

30th Nov 2023

In November 2023, the educational activities for children encompassed various subjects and interactive exercises. In the realm of music and drama, youngsters explored transport sounds, including those of cars, trains, buses, airplanes, rockets, and boats. Through methods such as signs, pointing, Tobii, and verbal communication, children identified and engaged with these sounds. A playful Sound Bingo session featured transport sounds, and children also distinguished between sounds produced by transport and animals.

In the Social, Environmental, and Scientific Education (SESE) - Geography segment, children examined pictures of different modes of transport, identifying and categorizing them. A sorting activity based on land, sea, and air transportation was followed by a cut-and-stick exercise. Additionally, children participated in Transport Bingo. During circle time and group work, they identified family members from photographs using signs or verbal communication.

In the History component, children explored pictures of their own families, engaging in discussions to identify age differences among family members. This exploration continued through circle time and group activities.

The Science session involved providing children with various toys and encouraging them to play and describe their actions using appropriate vocabulary. Play Dough and/or crazy sand activities aimed to enhance creativity and shape-changing skills.

In Social, Personal, and Health Education (SPHE), children continued exploring family dynamics through discussions, identifying age differences, and creating simple family trees.

Visual arts featured a colourful car collage project, where children utilized different materials to create their unique cars on prepared backgrounds.

Numeracy and Physical Education (PE) were interlinked through clapping games, simple movements, and sequencing familiar activities. The Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) program played a key role, incorporating action songs and letter construction using lines and pencils. Children also engaged in colouring activities and warm-up exercises imitating various animals.

Communication and literacy skills were nurtured through circle time, familiar songs, and sensory stories, providing a well-rounded and engaging learning experience for the children in November 2023.
