Latest Green school news

26th Feb 2025
Our Green school committee have been working hard to promote the theme of Biodiversity throughout the school. Our beautiful school grounds hold an abundance of plant and animal life and there are lots of opportunities for our pupils to get outside and begin investigating. The Green team have been encouraging everyone to learn about the importance of biodiversity, how it can be harmed and how we can help to protect and develop it. They have spoke about it at assembly, made posters, used the intercom system for announcements, sent home biodiversity worksheets, made a bug house, put up bird houses, designated an area of the school grounds for a wild flower garden and planted flowers for pollinators called the 'Bee and Butterfly Border'. They have helped to create a green school notice board and collected art work from all the classes to make a wonderful Biodiversity display. They have held meetings to discus their progress and how the school has kept up its commitment to reducing and managing its waste, energy , water use and transport use. The 'Green Team' are a fantastic bunch and with the support from the whole school community, parents and guardians and wider community they hope to achieve their green flag for Biodiversity this year. Many thanks to Holly class for the super video!
