Erasmus Rome 2026

15th May 2026

At the end of March, two of our senior teachers, Mary and Sam, were given the wonderful opportunity to attend an Erasmus+ Mindfulness Course in Rome, Italy. The course brought together a small group of educators from a range of European countries, including Germany, Croatia, Belgium, and others, providing a valuable opportunity to share experiences, ideas, and best practices in education and wellbeing.

The course focused on practical, hands-on strategies to support wellbeing within the classroom through emotional regulation, communication, focus, and stress management. A particularly valuable aspect of the programme was its emphasis on supporting staff wellbeing and recognising the importance of caring for teachers as individuals. It highlighted how mindfulness-based approaches can help create calmer, more inclusive, and supportive learning environments for both students and staff.

Working alongside educators from across Europe allowed Mary and Sam to learn new approaches and reflect on practices that can positively benefit our students, school community, and wider home environment. As teachers, we are passionate about supporting young people, and this experience reinforced the importance of understanding and accepting emotions in a positive and healthy way.

It was a fantastic opportunity for personal and professional growth, while also experiencing the rich culture and history of Rome and connecting with colleagues from across Europe.
